The short film 'Fleeting Visit', written and directed by Melanie Pieper, is currently in post production. We will provide you with more information on this project shortly.

The production of my newest short film project will be partially funded by the city of Hanover. We are very happy to receive these news and are looking forward to a successful preproduction and filming period!

A new short film venture is underway! Filming for the 'Untitled Hanover Project' will take place, as the working title suggests, in Hannover and Lower Saxony during August 2009. To check out the film's logline, please click here.

'Abseitsleben' will be shown at the International Short Film Festival Detmold on Saturday 6th June 2009 at 2:00 pm. The complete festival programme can be accessed on www.fest-der-filme.de/.

The short film Abseitsleben has been selected to screen at the 5th International Short Film Festival Detmold.

It has become become rather quiet around here. And the reason for that is that Melanie's is writing up ideas and short stories, and picking up on the odd piece of material in the cutting room. So hoh deep doh!

The short film 'Man in the Past' receives its final title: 'Abseitsleben' (english: 'Offside Life').

On Tuesday of this week Melanie worked as assistant / unit manager to the production of Heinz Rudolf Kunze's music video 'Längere Tage'. Franziska Stünkel directed the clip, which was shot at the GOP theatre in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany.

'It's all happening!'

'Man in the Past', written and directed by Melanie is now in production.

Max, played by veteran actor Heinz W. Krückeberg, lives his life with a conscious routine and has progressed to be entirely isolated from life outside of his apartment.

The film will be shot on HDV, with a P&S mini 35 adapter.

Preproduction for 'Man in the Past' has started, the leading role of Max has been cast, and generally we are very much looking forward to production. As soon as shooting dates are set, there will be an update.

Tim Garde's 'Feuerpause' with Peter Hommen as Kallert is being finished in postproduction after a few days of shooting pick-ups last weekend, during which Melanie happily returned to support Tim as his AD.

'Feuerpause' will premiere at the nordmedia cast& cut event in Hannover this September.

Melanie is very pleased to return to another collaborative project with Christine Mühlenhof. She is spending the day in the edit suite, cutting today's material to a 3 to 4 minute format. Melanie's short film project 'Man in the Past' received funding from the Kulturförderung der Stadt Hannover (cultural fonds of the city of Hannover)!

These encouraging news have lead this wee film project into preproduction. Melanie is very pleased with the third draft of the screenplay and is hoping to shoot within the next two to three months (date to be confirmed).

Melanie has just completed working as camera op and editor for Christine Mühlenhof, German TV presenter and journalist, on two exciting projects. Please see COLLABORATIONS for further information.

Four days in a Bavarian green screen studio has left everybody involved with the distinct urge never to paint the walls of the own apartment in a bright green. It is good to be back amongst the living - non-studiofied - folk, but as expected, it was a fun experience with lots of work. Now we'll all have to wait for the results!

Melanie is currently developing 'Glass Bottles', hoping to start writing the script as soon as returning from the 'Requiem for Tomorrow' pick-up shoot.

Long months of collaboration with the wonderful and talented ki-soft have finally drawn to a close with the implementation of melanie-pieper.com.

So that the baby shall grow and have a long and prosperous life!

The pick-up shoot for Carl Eilers' feature 'Requiem for Tomorrow' will take place in the green screen studio in Southern Germany from the 9th to the 12th of May.

Melanie will be back on board as DoP.
